About
The intrinsic link between humanity & nature.
New Zealand-born artist Linda Kypriadakis, now based in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Australia, explores the intrinsic link between humanity and nature in her painting and papermaking practice. Drawing on Oceanic philosophies of spirituality and connection, her process involves a meditative dialogue with materials, resulting in works that propose a sense of calm and invite contemplation.
Water—both as material and metaphor—is central to her practice. Through practice-led research and reflection-in-action, Kypriadakis explores water’s dual nature as tangible and transcendent, representational and abstract.
Her current series offers a perspective of water from above, through the multi-layered depths embodying the memories and tacit knowledge of both artist and water.
Kypriadakis holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts with First Class Honours and has exhibited since 2017. Her work is held in private collections across New Zealand and Australia.
